Michael Byrne Mfg. Acquires American Augers Auger Boring Product Line

Michael Byrne Mfg. announced that is has acquired the auger boring product line from American Augers, a division of the Toro Company. Toro’s divestiture of its Trencor and American Augers divisions was announced on Aug. 7.

“This strategic purchase combines two trusted names in horizontal earthboring, delivering even greater value, innovation and service to our customers,” Michael Byrne president Jim Weist said in YouTube video announcement. “With this addition, Michael Byrne Manufacturing expands its capabilities to support a broader range of auger boring equipment and parts while continuing to provide the high quality machinery, custom engineering and the same responsive assistance our customers have counted on since 1966. We want to ensure all existing American Augers customers that their equipment will be fully supported.

Michael Byrne Mfg. was founded in 1966 and is based in Mansfield, Ohio. American Augers, founded in 1970 and located in West Salem, Ohio, specializes in auger boring and directional drilling equipment. The HDD product line of American Augers will operate under Toro’s Ditch Witch division.
