Washington Summit 2022 Delivers Results

NUCA’s May 25 Washington Summit hit the message home for over 80 lawmaker’s offices: Our infrastructure is America’s foundation for economic success.

The 2022 Washington Summit was a big success! NUCA’s 95 attendees, guided by Chapter leadership, held more than 80 meetings with legislators and their staff. Those on the Hill were very open to the association’s goals, and we expect the experience to yield positive results for the industry. Of note was NUCA of Kentucky’s meeting with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) may deliver very positive results in the coming months, as the Senator expressed great interest in sponsoring our private activity bond legislation.

NUCA leadership also met with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) along with NUCA of Kentucky’s delegation.

Through the hard work of all of our Chapters, NUCA’s 95 Summit attendees discussed last year’s core infrastructure bill and its progress, urging Congress to exercise oversight on the Biden Administration to ensure Congress’s intent is carried out.

Members also urged lawmakers to increase broadband infrastructure and lead pipe replacement funding, and support NUCA’s pending legislation on increasing the use of private activity bonds for water and wastewater project.

NUCA kindly thanks Summit attendees for their time to visit Washington and make a huge difference for our advocacy program.
