The new Cat C2 Series articulated dump truck range includes the 314-hp 725C2 and the 367-hp 730C2 and 730C2 EJ with ejector-type body. Rated payloads are 26.5 tons for the 725C2 and 31 tons for the two larger models. Standard automatic traction control ensures efficient operation of the new models, which advance the design of predecessor models with increased productivity, lower operating costs and added rimpull/retarding capability, while retaining the long-term durability, high availability, high resale value and optimum rental margins of previous models. All three new C2 Series models feature full-time, six-wheel drive and are equipped with wet disc clutch locks in the cross axle and inter-axle differentials. Doosan

Doosan’s DA30-5 and DA40-5 articulated dump trucks offer larger load capacities in their respective weight class categories to move more material in less time. The trucks are commonly found on jobsites in the early phases of site development, typically when ground conditions are not ideal. In muddy or difficult terrain, Doosan’s ADTs are used because they have the horsepower, torque and gear ratios to complete the job efficiently. The ADTs are equipped with larger tires to provide better traction in unfavorable conditions. A wide-base tire with an 80 percent profile is typically used in earthmoving applications, giving the ADT higher traction, superior terrain mobility and low ground pressure. John Deere

Designed and built in Davenport, Iowa, the 460E is the largest ADT in the John Deere lineup. The 481-hp machine delivers productivity through a large dump body and fast cycle times. Exclusive features such as remote park-brake release, rollover protection, ground-level service and auto horn help keep operators out of harm’s way. The quieter Deere-designed cab is sealed and pressurized to keep out dust and noise. It also comes loaded with an EPA Tier 4 Final John Deere Power Tech diesel engine. Komatsu

Komatsu America’s Tier 4 HM400-5 articulated dump truck has a net 466 hp with a 44.1-ton payload. Its low 10-ft, 5-in. loading height easily matches with 40- to 60-ton hydraulic excavators or 5.5- to 7.5-cu yd wheel loaders. The HM400-5 features the Komatsu Traction Control System (K-TCS) that automatically provides optimum traction when operating in soft ground conditions.
