5th TTC Auger Boring School Set for November
The Trenchless Technology Center (TTC) at Louisiana Tech University has teamed up with the Division of Construction Engineering & Management at Purdue University’s College of Engineering, to hold the 5th TTC Auger Boring School (ABS) Nov. 7-10 in Ruston, Louisiana.
This four-day school has been developed to provide attendees with the knowledge and background needed to understand the important components of auger boring and pilot tube operations required to produce successful projects.
In addition to the classroom lectures, practical sessions will be held where participants will be offered hands-on experience with the actual equipment in a field setting. The school will be instructed by the foremost experts in the industry and will cover all aspects of a project from design to construction, with a special focus on safety.
The course takes place at the LA Tech campus with classroom sessions in the university’s Integrated Engineering and Science Education Building and hands-on sessions at the TTC’s Barbera Education, Research & Training (BERT) facility.
At the end of this course, each attendee will receive 3 CEUs (30 PDHs) plus a Certificate of Completion.
The four-day course is designed for; contractors, engineers, project superintendents, foremen, crew members, estimators, public officials, educators, state highway department representatives and regulatory agency representatives.
Course directors are Tom Iseley, Ph.D., P.E., Dist. M.ASCE and John Matthews, Ph.D., M.ASCE. Iseley is a PWAM Beavers Heavy Construction Distinguished Fellow and Professor of Engineering Practice Construction Engineering & Management at Purdue University. Matthews is the director of the TTC, Eminent Scholar Chair in Construction and Associate Professor, CE & CET at Louisiana Tech University.
Registration for the ABS is $1,995 with an early registration fee of $1,795 for those who sign-up before Aug. 31. The course offers an additional 10 percent discount for three or more attendees from the same company.
