JCB news at CONEXPO: Teleskid launch, 3CX and Hydradig upgrades, two new skid steer loaders
We stopped by the JCB booth at CONEXPO in Las Vegas, and the company had a lot to show and tell. Here is a roundup of everything of note.
Launch of JCB Teleskid
The JCB Teleskid is a revolutionary new product that can reach 60% further forward than any other skid steer on the market and – in an industry first – it is the only skid steer in the world that can dig below its chassis to an unparalleled depth of around one meter. In addition, this innovative new machine can reach 8% higher than any other skid steer.
The JCB Teleskid has an unrivalled forward reach of 2.4 meters – making it 60% better than the nearest competitive machine. With a lift height of four meters, the JCB Teleskid can reach 8% higher than any other skid steer in the world.
The JCB Teleskid will be on the only skid steer on the market which is able to combine vertical and radial lift capability. A unique bucket-positioning levelling system allows the bucket level to be set and maintained throughout the boom’s range of movement.
3CX Compact Upgrades
A new high-flow auxiliary hydraulic circuit is being made available for the 3CX Compact backhoe loader – delivering up to 120 liters/min of flow to power a range of loader-mounted attachments. The high-flow circuit will be available with a multi-function, electronic front loader control lever, with integral proportional rocker switches and activation buttons. This will provide increased control of front-mounted attachments, boosting productivity and performance.
In addition JCB will launch additional features to enhance the machine including:
• Second step options for easy cab access
• Multi-function front loader control
• Powerslide option allows repositioning without ground damage
• Skid steer attachment hitch increases work tool availability
• Additional in cab storage
• Dipper mounted hydraulic pipework
The 3CX Compact will be available with an optional Powerslide mounting for the backhoe. This allows the operator to slide the backhoe kingpost smoothly from one side of the machine to the other, without the risk of damage to the ground by pushing the boom across with the bucket. Additional safety options will include a second, lower cab entry step, at 430-440mm from the ground, to provide easier access for operators that move in and out of the cab frequently.
Two new wheeled skid steer loaders
The new 210 radial lift model offers a base rated operating capacity (ROC) of 950kg, while the new 215 vertical lift model boasts an ROC of 975kg.
The operating capacity of both the 210 and 215 models can be increased by an additional 90kg, to 1040kg and 1065kg respectively, with an optional, dealer-fitted “suitcase” counterweight kit.
The impressive ROC of the 210 and 215 will allow operators to take full advantage of the high-flow auxiliary hydraulic circuit, delivering 136 liters per minute, to power a range of high-flow attachments such as cold planers, augers and trenchers.
Additionally, the new 210 and 215 are the first in JCB’s small-frame skid steer line up to be powered by the JCB by Kohler 55kW (74hp) engine, which offers a 20% increase in horsepower over comparably-sized skid steers in the JCB range, yet requires no diesel particulate filter (DPF). Both machines are Stage III B / Tier 4 Final compliant.
Hydradig gets an engine upgrade
JCB is upgrading the 110W Hydradig wheeled tool carrier, with the installation of a Tier 4 Final JCB EcoMAX diesel engine. The Hydradig Tier 4 Final JCB EcoMAX diesel engine features:
• SCR with DEF additive resulting in no requirement for a DPF
• Minimum 4% fuel saving over previous engine
• Very low 2% DEF use, reducing downtime
• NOx emissions reduced by 88% for lower environmental impact
JCB’s Hydradig wheeled tool carrier is taking on the latest Tier 4 Final/EU Stage IV compliant JCB EcoMAX diesel engine, equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). This highly efficient engine, which delivers a powerful 81kW (108hp), uses a Urea-based Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) additive that is injected into the exhaust system to reduce potentially harmful oxides of nitrogen (NOx) by 88%.
Improved efficiency within the engine results in fuel savings of up to 4%, despite producing the same power and torque as the previous machine, cutting operating costs for customers. Tags: JCB
