NUCA’s Greater Kansas City Chapter Hires Executive Director
NUCA’s Greater Kansas City Chapter, still in its first year, has hired local industry veteran Mac Andrew as its new staff executive director. Andrew has started making the rounds, representing NUCA at industry meetings throughout the region. Along with visiting the offices of NUCA of KC’s 60 member companies, Andrew is reaching out to industry representatives at local governments, utility districts and engineering firms. He is a familiar face and esteemed colleague in the Kansas City region’s construction industry and public infrastructure. Andrew’s experience, industry knowledge and connections will help pave the way as members continue to build NUCA Greater KC Chapter.
Starting out as a civil engineer and superintendent, Andrew spent 28 years with KCMO’s Public Works Department and rose to become its assistant director of water services. After that, he was tapped to be public works director for Jackson County, Mo. Then, as director of infrastructure and transportation for Johnson County, Kan., for 12 years, Andrew led six departments overseeing a $40 million annual budget, 75-plus employees and improvements and maintenance for 500 miles of roadways. Most recently, he served as client liaison for consulting firm Shafer, Kline & Warren. Andrew graduated from University of Missouri at Rolla with a civil engineering degree. NUCA welcomes Andrew to the organization and looks forward to working with him.
