Utility Investigation School Heading to California

The Buried Asset Management Institute – International (BAMI-I) is taking its Utility Investigation School (UIS) to California for a pair of week-long training sessions this fall.

BAMI-I, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and ASCE’S Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute (UESI) are working together to conduct the ASCE UESI/BAMI-I UIS School Sept. 19-23 in San Diego and Nov. 14-18 in Sacramento.   

This short course gives practitioners the knowledge and tools to provide competent utility investigations in accordance with accepted national standards (ASCE 38) and to defend against claims through this knowledge and its documentation.

In addition to the classroom lectures, practical sessions will be held where participants will be offered hands-on experience with the GPR, PCL, etc. This 5-day school will be taught by the foremost experts in the geophysics and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) field. At the end of this short course, attendees will receive 4 CEUS/40 PDHs and a certificate of completion.

UIS is designed for:

• Engineers, surveyors and project managers providing deliverables that include results and depictions of utility investigations.

• Consulting engineers, employees of utility companies, state DOTs and local highway agencies, regulatory agencies, local governments, etc.

• Design engineers for infrastructure projects with significant expected utility congestion.

Early registration is $1,795 and ends Aug. 15 for San Diego and Oct. 14 for Sacramento. Registration after that is $1,995. Receive an additional 10 percent discount for three or more attendees from the same company. To register, visit bami-i.com/events.
