The new external “spinal” ROPS structure boasts bonded rear quarter glass that eliminates the structural pillar to give the operator a dramatic improvement in visibility from the cab. Upon cab entry, the new “wake up” feature initiates machine displays as soon as the door is opened, while the lighter/stronger cab door offers shut assist for improved sealing against dust infiltration. Doosan DA30-5 and DA40-5 ADTs feature a unique front-mounted turning ring, sloping rear frame and free-swinging gear-driven tandem to improve traction to all six wheels. The 260E and 310E ADTs from John Deere are designed and built from the ground up in Davenport, Iowa, and they boast updated styling, new cabs, frames and axles compared to their D-Series predecessors. The 26-ton 260E (321 hp) and 31-ton 310E (354 hp) boast a John Deere PowerTech 9.0 Liter Final Tier 4 engine. A purpose-built ZF transmission includes a high-capacity retarder, eight forward gears and four reverse gears. Compared to previous models, these trucks have a 125 percent increase in retardation capacity. A new automatic differential lock provides both cross-axle differential lock and inter-axle differential lock options that can power the ADTs through soft underfoot conditions or steep terrains. Volvo
The Volvo A45G articulated hauler is designed to be both powerful and productive, while remaining incredibly nimble and efficient. The A45G — powered by the latest Volvo D16, Tier 4 Final engine — boasts 469 hp and is capable of 45-ton payloads. Improvements include the Volvo Dynamic Drive system and the new Dynamic Volvo Engine Brake (VEB) system. New standard safety features include Hill Assist and a Dump Support System. Hill Assist automatically holds the hauler in place on uphill slopes without engaging the parking brake.
