BAMI-I, UCTA-North Texas to Host Asset Management Workshop in November

The Buried Asset Management Institute International (BAMI-I) and the Underground Construction Technology North Texas Chapter (UCTA-NT) will host a four-day Certification of Training in Asset Management (CTAM) workshop Nov. 5-8 in Lewisville, Texas.

For the event, BAMI-I has teamed up with the Underground Construction Technology Association North Texas Chapter (UCTA-NT) to host the third four-day workshop.

The workshop will offer an exclusive four-part series in asset management coursework for water infrastructure asset management certification. The workshop covers one course level per day. Upon completion of the four courses, participants receive designation as an ‘Associate Water Asset Manager’ (AWAM) plus 30 hours of PDH credits.

The fees are $900 per UCTA attendee or $1,200 per non-UCTA attendee and space is limited. The registration fee includes classroom instruction and all accompanying instruction materials (manuals, handouts), exams and certificates. The registration also includes, upon source completion, the AWAM Certificate and a PDH certificate.

The Buried Asset Management Institute (BAMI) was established in the Department of Watershed Management (DWM) for the City of Atlanta in 2003 as a result of the leadership and inspiration of Mayor Shirley Franklin and DWM Commissioner Jack Ravan. In 2004, BAMI transitioned to BAMI-International (BAMI-I). BAMI-I is a non-profit corporation whose main purpose is to educate and assist those who have an interest in applying best buried asset management practices to extend the life and efficiency of their assets.

In 2006, BAMI-I was selected for U.S. EPA Cooperative Agreement (CP 83 282901-1), which was completed in 2008. As a result of it, BAMI-I launched the Certificate of Training in Asset Management courses (CTAM 100-400). This program consists of four online courses plus a two-level certification program (Associate Water Asset Manager & Professional Water Asset Manager. To date, individuals from 16 countries have enrolled in the CTAM program.
