NUCA is also announcing the appointment of Chris Barrett as the interim chief executive officer. With her proven leadership and deep understanding of our organization, Ms. Barrett is poised to guide NUCA forward during this interim period, ensuring uninterrupted momentum as we seek a permanent CEO. We anticipate welcoming a new CEO as early as this fall, building on the organizational foundation laid by Mr. Carlson over the last five years.

Currently serving as NUCA’s chief operating officer since June 2016, Ms. Barrett brings a wealth of expertise to her interim role. As a key member of our executive leadership team, she has championed operational excellence, collaborating seamlessly with staff, members, Chapter leaders, and industry experts to drive meaningful outcomes for NUCA and America’s utility construction industry.
