NUCA of North Texas Advocates for One-Call Parity

The NUCA of North Texas Government Affairs Committee recently arranged a meeting with Representative Cecil Bell of District 3 North of Houston, who is also the CEO of Tejas Underground Utilities, to discuss how “penalties in One-Call are unfairly biased against contractors.” He agreed with NUCA that problems exist in the current code. Rep. Bell has filed House Bill 2535 in an effort to ensure penalties levied are against the responsible party. Passing HB 2535 will be a challenge, so NUCA of North Texas encourages everyone concerned with digging in the state to request support for this HB 2535 from their representatives.
