NUCA Statement On EPA Office of Water Nomination
The chief executive officer of the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), Doug Carlson, issued the following statement on the Trump Administration’s nomination of Jessica Kramer to serve as the Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water:
“NUCA strongly supports the nomination of Jessica Kramer to lead the EPA’s important Office of Water. Ms. Kramer’s deep knowledge of this nation’s extensive water and wastewater issues will serve her very well overseeing the critical Clean Water SRF and Drinking Water SRF.
“Both state revolving funds are vital for building and repairing the nation’s water infrastructure systems. Each of these funds remain underfunded for the work ahead delivering clean water and removing sanitary wastewater from 85% of American homes and businesses. Ms. Kramer’s prior experience at the EPA Office of Water and as a skilled water counsel for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee during negotiations on the NUCA-endorsed Drinking Water and Wastewater Act of 2021 makes her a perfect fit for this important position.
“NUCA looks forward to working with Administrator Kramer in ensuring that America’s utility construction companies are able to build and repair this critical infrastructure. Our nation deserves modern and clean drinking water and wastewater systems, and with the right federal resources, our industry and our half-million employees will build them for America.”
