On Thursday, May 12, the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) gave utility construction business owners a great reason to join the industry’s premier association: invest in your business’s future success and become part of the association’s first-ever National Signing Day. What resulted was 74 utility industry companies doing just that, marking the association’s largest recorded single-day jump in new memberships!
“NUCA is set for growth, and we’re attracting new members who want to join in the successes we’re helping our industry achieve” said Doug Carlson, NUCA Chief Executive Officer. “Our Chapters did a great job getting the word out to the industry members in their states and regions, held recruiting events, and signed up new members all day.”
NUCA Chapters were recognized at three levels for their National Signing Day successes. Chapters that signed four or more new members earned Gold recognition. Three new members signed earned Sterling recognition and Bronze recognition went to chapters that signed 1-2 new members. In total, 22 NUCA Chapters signed at least one new member for National Signing Day!
Gold Level (10): AZUCA, NUCA of the Carolinas, NUCA of East Tennessee, NUCA of the Greater Kansas City Region, NUCA Gulf Coast, NUCA of Middle Tennessee, NUCA of Nebraska, NUCA of North Texas, NUCA San Antonio, NUCA of South Florida
Sterling Level (4): NUCA of Washington DC, NUCA of New Jersey, NUCA of North Florida, NUCA National (independent members)
Bronze Level (8): NUCA of Central Florida, NUCA of Colorado, NUCA of Eastern Washington & Northern Idaho, NUCA Mid-South, NUCA of Ohio, NUCA of Southwest Florida, Suncoast Utility Contractors Association (SUCA), NUCA of Washington
New NUCA members that joined on National Signing Day credited the following individuals as having been influential in their decision to join NUCA: Lauren Atwell, Kathy Blackman, Rick Bullington, Darren Cleary, Shawn Farrell, Kemp Garcia, Linda Goslee, Monty Habrock, George Hamilton, Natalie Hansen, David Howell, Ryan Kinning, Michael Larsen, Scott Little, Mary Odom, Joe Potter, David Rible, Randy Stringer, Kelly Thompson and Greg Wolf.
“NUCA has a lot to deliver to a potential new member. We have benefit programs that make it possible for companies to realize business cost reductions well above the cost of membership,” said Ryan Kinning, vice president of Penro Construction in Pender, Nebraska, and chairman of NUCA.
The event generated industry excitement for the association, promoted the many benefits enjoyed by NUCA members, and expanded the networking opportunities for the industry and its new members. New members were also enticed by the NUCA’s annual mid-year/half-off National dues promotion for new members, which kicked off to coincide with National Signing Day and continues through Aug. 31.
