2027 CGA Conference & Expo Call for Proposals Now Open
Common Ground Alliance (CGA), the national nonprofit association dedicated to protecting underground utility lines, people who dig near them, and their communities, announced that the Call for Proposals for the 2027 CGA Conference & Expo is open through Oct. 23, 2026.
Set for April 12-15, 2027, at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla., the 2027 Conference will bring together the damage prevention industry under the theme “The Challenge of Change.” With the industry navigating rapid shifts in technology, workforce and regulation, CGA is seeking session proposals from industry professionals and subject matter experts to facilitate solutions-driven discussions and formulate decisive actions that reduce damages to underground utilities.
The CGA Conference & Expo is the largest gathering of its kind, bringing together experts and decision-makers for multiple days of collaboration on the top issues associated with underground utility damage. Programming includes roundtable discussions, innovative presentations, interactive breakout sessions and networking events. Presenting at the 2027 CGA Conference & Expo gives industry experts a platform to help shape the damage prevention industry’s next chapter.
Key topic areas of interest to CGA members and Conference attendees include:
- Proven strategies and measurable progress in reducing underground utility damages
- Critical role of the facility owner/operator in driving down damages
- Technology applications improving the industry toda
- Successful approaches addressing infrastructure locate surges with scalable solutions
- Importance of effective safe digging laws and regulations
“The Challenge of Change captures where our industry stands today: Technology, workforce and regulation are shifting quickly, and the choices we make now will determine how well we protect underground infrastructure for the next generation,” said CGA President and CEO Sarah K. Magruder Lyle. “I’m looking forward to bringing our industry together in Tampa to share the strategies and partnerships that will help us meet that challenge.”
The 2026 CGA Conference & Expo, held at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., drew more than 1,400 damage prevention leaders across 15 stakeholder groups, including leading utilities, state 811 call centers, oil and gas pipeline operators, utility contractors, construction firms, insurance providers, equipment manufacturers and underground locating technology companies.
Those interested in serving as an industry expert or thought leader may submit outcome-oriented, results-forward session proposals using the online application through Oct. 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Submitters will be notified of their proposal status via email by Dec. 4, 2026, and must confirm participation by Dec. 11, 2026; proposals not confirmed by that deadline will be treated as declined.
