Chicago Pneumatic releases new line of generators at CONEXPO

We stopped by the Chicago Pneumatic Construction Equipment (CP) booth at CONEXPO in Las Vegas to get a peek at its new line of portable gasoline generators — the CPPG 2.5, CPPG 5.5 and CPPG 7W. The generators are designed to deliver stable electrical output and safe, user-friendly operation over a long service life.

CPPG 2.5 Portable Generator

The smallest portable generator in the CP lineup, the CPPG 2.5 features a 4.75-gallon fuel tank that can run continuously for 11 hours. At 120 or 240 volts, the generator produces a continuous output of 2,500 watts. The unit weight of the CPPG 2.5 is nearly 115 pounds and measures 23 inches (length) by 17 inches (width) by 19 inches (height).

The generator operates off of a Chicago Pneumatic gasoline engine that offers a power output of 6.4 horsepower (hp). The CPPG 2.5 has a manual starter.

CPPG 5.5 Portable Generator

Equipped with a 5.5-gallon fuel tank, the midsize CPPG 5.5 can run power continuously for 10 hours. At 120 or 240 volts, the generator produces a continuous output of 5,500 watts. The unit has a weight of 175 pounds and measures 27 inches (length) by 21 inches (width) by 21 inches (height).

The CPPG 5.5 functions off of a CP gasoline engine that offers a power output of 12.8 hp. The generator features both an electric and manual starter.

CPPG 7W Portable Generator

The largest portable generator in the CP lineup, the CPPG 7W features a 6.6-gallon fuel tank that can run continuously for 8 hours. At 120 or 240 volts, the generator produces a continuous output of 7,000 watts. The unit weighs just over 180 pounds and measures 28 inches (length) by 22 inches (width) by 22 inches (height).

A CP gasoline engine offers a power output of 12 hp. The CPPG 7W offers both an electric and manual starter.

“Our new portable generators are tough out on the job for construction professionals who depend on portable power for their tools and electronic equipment,” said Michael Sagermann, business line manager of the portable energy division at CP. “The CPPG generators have all the features operators would need built right in.”
