Utility Investigation School Set for March 2-6

UIS 2020 returns to Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, March 2-6.

The Trenchless Technology Center (TTC) at Louisiana Tech University in conjunction with the ASCE’S Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute (UESI) have teamed to hold the 7th TTC Utility Investigation School (UIS) in 2020. This short course, co-sponsored by NUCA, will give practitioners the knowledge and tools to provide competent utility investigations in accordance with accepted national standards (ASCE 38) and to defend against claims through this knowledge and its documentation.

In addition to the classroom lectures, practical sessions will be held where participants will be offered hands-on experience with the GPR, PCL, etc. This 5-day school will be taught by the foremost experts in the geophysics and subsurface utility engineering field. It is designed for: Engineers and surveyors and project managers providing deliverables that include results and depictions of utility investigations;and  Consulting engineers, employees of utility companies, state DOTs and local highway agencies, regulatory agencies, local governments, etc.

Students completing the course will receive 4 CEUs /40 PDHs and a Certificate of Completion. The course director is Tom Iseley, professor emeritus, Louisiana State University and chairman of the Buried Asset Management Institute-International. The course developer is Jim Anspach, global senior principal with Cardno Inc.
