NUCA of the Carolinas Holds Auger Boring School

CarolinasNUCA of the Carolinas held an Auger Boring School May 13-17 in Aberdeen, N.C. The chapter partnered with Leo Barbera of Horizontal Equipment Co. to facilitate the training. Students traveled from North Carolina, Texas, Minnesota and South Dakota to attend the school. Sullivan Eastern donated a Liebherr excavator and operator, United Rental Trench Safety donated trench boxes and sheeting and a Safety Talk was given by John Knighten from United Rentals prior to the start of NUCA of the Carolinasthe school. Hobas Pipe provided hard hats and FastMed Urgent Care, BRS Inc. and Bailey Contracting sponsored the school lunches.

Students thoroughly enjoyed the school and had these comments to share: “It opened my eyes to many new possibilities of boring.” “It was very thorough and well prepared.” “Leo Barbera was very knowledgeable.”
