SAERTEX multiCom to Expand Operations in North Carolina
SAERTEX multiCom LP announced its intention to expand its US operations. SAERTEX multiCom plans to invest more than $20 million in a new manufacturing and warehouse facility near its current location in Huntersville, North Carolina. The expansion will retain 34 existing positions and allow SAERTEX multiCom to add 45 new jobs over the next five years.
“An important part of our global strategic growth plan has been to invest heavily in our North American operations, which we feel is key to our overall success,” says Kai Diecks, Managing Director of SAERTEX multiCom Group. “Our new location will allow us to better serve our existing customers, as well as position us to significantly expand our manufacturing capacity and improve our warehousing and logistics operations.”
Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, will support the project through a Business Investment Program (BIP) grant of $339,218 over five years. The grant was recently approved by the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners.
“It is critically important for us to be near our customers, partners and the infrastructure projects we support,” says Mark Hallett, General Manager – SAERTEX multiCom LP. “This facility will enable us to manufacture our cured-in-place, fiberglass-reinforced lining materials more quickly and efficiently, as well as develop new products to meet the requirements of North American municipalities.”
SAERTEX multiCom is the leading manufacturer of UV cured-in-place pipe materials in the world. The company produces various lining products for the trenchless rehabilitation of wastewater and stormwater pipes in addition to potable water and other pressure pipes.
