East Tennessee Chapter Hires Executive Director
David Hurst, president of NUCA‘s East Tennessee Chapter, announced that the young organization has hired a new Executive Director, Wendi Mullins.
“In this our inaugural year, I’m pleased to announce a major milestone in the growth of your NUCA East Tennessee Chapter: The hiring of Wendi Mullins as our new staff Executive Director,” Hurst said in an email.
From her Knoxville area office, Mullins has begun making the rounds and meeting fellow NUCA members. She will represent NUCA within the local construction industry, including are partners in local government, utility companies, utility districts, engineering firms, TOSHA, TDOT and more. As Chapter Executive Director, Mullins is helping build these key relationships and creating opportunities for NUCA member companies.
An expanded slate of NUCA activities is being planned in East Tennessee in the months ahead. These range from education, training to advocacy and workforce development. All are designed to connect and advance our companies, and give “voice” to the vital infrastructure work NUCA companies do in East Tennessee.
Mullins is actively involved in several local nonprofits but spends the majority of her weekends on her houseboat enjoying family, friends and sunshine. She has extensive nonprofit management experience, growing and developing many cherished local groups. These include Provision CARES Foundation, A Step Ahead Foundation, and American Diabetes Association.
Mullins knows firsthand what it takes to lead organizational causes and grassroots efforts. Her expertise and community connections will help pave the way as we continue to build the NUCA East Tennessee Chapter as the foremost organization for excavation and utility construction.
The East Tennessee Chapter has grown rapidly to nearly 40 member companies in its first year, strengthening the voice of the utility construction market in the region.
