NUCA of the Carolinas Awards 2026 Educational Foundation Scholarships
The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) of the Carolinas announced the recipients of its 2026 Educational Foundation Scholarship Program, reaffirming the Association’s commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of its members’ families and investing in the future of the utility construction industry.
Funded through the generosity of NUCA member companies and supporters, the Educational Foundation provides scholarships each year to outstanding students pursuing higher education. The program represents one of the Association’s most meaningful ways of giving back to the families whose dedication strengthens our industry every day.
2026 Educational Foundation Scholarship Recipients
The following students have been awarded $2,500 Educational Foundation Scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year:
- Andrew Cox — North Carolina State University
- Christopher Carbajal-Mejia — Wake Forest University
- Madison Donahue — University of Mississippi
- Landon Moser — Guilford College
Two additional scholarship recipients requested that their names not be publicly released. We congratulate them on this outstanding achievement and appreciate their desire for privacy.
Simon Everett Scholarship
The 2026 Simon Everett Scholarship, awarded annually in the amount of $5,000, has been presented to Emma Hewitt, who will attend Campbell University. This distinguished scholarship recognizes her exceptional commitment to community involvement, volunteerism, leadership, and service.
Selection Process
Recipients are selected through an independent review administered by the International Scholarship and Tuition Service (ISTS). Applications are evaluated using the following criteria:
- 60% Academic Achievement
- 20% Community Service & Volunteerism
- 15% Leadership & Extracurricular Activities
- 5% Work & Internship Experience
Scholarships are available for students attending four-year colleges and universities, community colleges, accredited trade schools, and both undergraduate and graduate-level programs.
