NUCA Welcomes New Director of Government Relations
NUCA is pleased to announce the newest addition to its staff, Bryce Mongeon. As NUCA’s Director of Government Relations, Mongeon will manage NUCA’s advocacy program and Political Action Committee. Bryce comes to NUCA with Capitol Hill experience and contacts from important congressional lawmakers and committees who make important decisions affecting our industry.
Mongeon is originally from Northeast Pennsylvania and began working in Washington, D.C., in 2012 after graduating from Colgate University. After a brief internship with Congressman Lou Barletta, he worked for former Congressman Charlie Dent for six years on Capitol Hill. Hired as a Staff Assistant for Representative Dent, he worked his way up to serve as a Senior Legislative Assistant before taking the position at NUCA. As part of his issue portfolio, Mongeon managed appropriations, as well as infrastructure, construction, transportation, and public lands issues, among the Congressman’s other priorities.
NUCA Government Relations Committee Chairman Tom Butler said he was excited to meet Mongeon at NUCA’s Washington Summit. “He is clearly a very bright guy. He started the position just over a week before the Summit, but still prepared us to discuss important issues with our legislators,” said Butler, Chief Estimator with Burgess Civil. “On top of that, his experience working as a legislative aide will allow him to better focus our direction and ensure we getting the most out of our lobbying efforts.”
In joining NUCA, Mongeon is excited to continue working to ensure that businesses are able to build and improve our nation’s infrastructure. “During my time working in Congress, I was always impressed by businesses that were building and constructing the infrastructure necessary to keep our country healthy and our economy moving. I am excited to be at NUCA because our members provide a unique perspective on these issues and undertake the work necessary to keep America’s underground infrastructure in working order,” Mongeon said. “At a time when Congress, the President, and the public have expressed an interest in rebuilding our infrastructure, I look forward to working with our members to best understand their needs and working with lawmakers in a bipartisan manner to ensure that our interests are well-represented in federal policy.”
“Bryce is a perfect addition to our strong team and hit the ground running with impressive leadership at our 2018 Washington Summit,” NUCA CEO Bill Hillman said. “Members can feel confident that our lobbying is in very good hands.”
