United Rentals Offers Virtual Instructor-Led Training

Delivering top notch safety training has always been a priority of United Rentals. As an industry leader, United Rentals has added to its traditional methods of course delivery. United Rentals now offers two of our most popular courses, Excavation Safety for Competent Person and Confined Spaces in Construction, in a virtual, instructor-led format.

Both courses are available for instruction in English or Spanish. These courses can be scheduled as a private session or learners can register for one of many open-enrollment sessions.

Excavation Safety for Competent Person Training
United Rentals’ Excavation Safety Training for Competent Persons has been designed by
professional trainers to meet OSHA standard 1926 subpart P requirements for excavation oversight. Training topics include:

• Soil classification
• Sloping and benching
• Timber shoring
• Aluminum hydraulic shoring
• Requirements for protective systems
• Manufactured tabulated data
• Site specific engineering
• General requirements and competent person responsibilities
• Rescue Services

Confined Spaces in Construction Training
Geared toward the construction industry, this course focuses on creating a safe environment for workers as outlined in OSHA standard 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA. Training topics include:
• Identifying permit requirements for confined spaces
• Use of gas monitoring equipment
• Proper ventilation of confined spaces
• Alternate entry procedures
• Competent Person
• Atmospheric/engulfment hazards
• Required monitoring of hazards
• Permit Program
• Duties of Supervisors, Entrants, and Attendants
• Multi-employer worksite communication
• Rescue Services
